The Conewango Creek Watershed Association (CCWA) is holding a photo contest to help celebrate our winning the 2015 PA River of the Year and to create a calendar for 2016. The contest is currently OPEN and the deadline for submission has been EXTENDED to the close of the day on Saturday August 15, 2015.

All you shutterbugs that enjoy the outdoors and have photos from anywhere in the Conewango Watershed  (view Watershed Map HERE) can submit them by email to jcaringola@conewangocreek.org by August 15th, 2015 for consideration in the contest.

The photos will be evaluated by a panel of judges, with the winning photo going on the cover of the 2016 calendar. Twelve other photos will also be selected, one for each month of the year. All photos must be submitted via email in jpeg format.

Please include with each email photo submission:

  • Your name
  • Phone numbers you can be reached
  • Email address
  • Location and Date of photo
  • Make and model of camera used

There is a maximum of five (5) photo submissions per person. The minimum file size is 5 megapixels to assure quality resolution, so check your camera.  Cell phones may not have enough resolution, so be sure to sue the best camera you own (or can borrow!).  The winning photographers will need to sign a release allowing CCWA royalty-free and copyright-free use of the photo. Each winning photographer will be acknowledged in the calendar with their photo.

The calendar will be sold to help raise funds to protect and keep clean this treasure in our own backyard. The Conewango Creek was recently voted the 2015 Pennsylvania River of the Year, but it is only part of the entire watershed. To view a map of the entire watershed, click HERE.

Any questions on the photo contest can be directed to jcaringola@conewangocreek.org or to info@conewangocreek.org.

This is open to all photographers but remember there is a 5 photo limit, so pick your best and hopefully your photo will land in the calendar.  Good Luck To All!
