Take a Virtual Trip on the Conewango Creek Today

Are you just waiting for the weather to get nice enough to kayak or canoe the Conewango Creek?  Maybe a virtual float tour of the Creek will help.  CCWA member Kirk Johnson published a float trip on the YouTube Site and invited us to link to it.  The trip is a little more than 9 minutes long.

Kirk Johnson:  “One week after the completion of the Warren low head dam removal project I decided it would be fun to kayak down Conewango Creek from Larimer Park in Russel, PA, through Warren past the old dam site. I completed the trip by floating out to the Allegheny River and down to Betts Park.

The trip took about four hours. There had been a fair amount of rain in the previous week, so the water level was higher than average. The weather was good, not too warm but not too cold either. The leaves were just starting to turn color so that was a nice touch.”
